License Plates

Does anyone know why some people get the new license plates when they renew and why some only get the sticker?

  1. Im not sure but could it be the vehicle is not in the same class as the previous vehicle? You had say a ford and you trade it in for a porche? you know like a car to a pickup which you cant transfer. You can tell I dont know my vehicles. Probley shouldnt even be putting my 2cents worth in but just a thought.

  2. I was just renewing my tags for the year though. I had a friend do it two weeks ago and she got new tags for all of there vehicles, I go to renew mine and I get stickers. These were all the same vehicles, no one had traded any in or purchased any new ones.

  3. Here usually everyone gets new plates like every four years or so. In between that time they give us the stickers.

  4. Well you usually get new ones when the state comes out with new designs, which they did this year. That's why I was wondering why I didn't get the new designed tags, but some of my friends did

  6. Unless the new designs weren't out yet when you renewed. Say if the new plates weren't available until March, then the plates that renewed in Jan. and Feb. would still just get the sticker this year, and get the actual new plate next year in Jan and Feb.

  8. Hey, brainy I went to go get my tags today and I asked why we are not getting the new tag and the lady told me that they stopped give the new tags out in March cause the state went broke and didn't have the money for anymore of the new tags.

  9. I got mine earlier this month and got the new design. Maybe a phone call to them would solve this strange question. Joy
