Catholic burial ground of still born babies

On the other topix, they brought up spooky places in Ulysses. I remembered on the spot of Family Phys, there was a day care for children. A lot of strange and spooky things took place on the cameras placed strategically that made your hair stand on in. The Catholic Nuns ran the hospital at the time and all the still born or miscarriaged babies were buried on that spot. Many scary stories came out of this story that I witnessed myself.

Have you heard of any spooky stories about that place? I'm serious about these stories that were told to me by employees.????

Shes also pregant. Probably old news and she is very very angry. About what, I don't have a clue. Angry about the wreck, maybe, angry at herelf, maybe. Who knows???? Cigarettes and Whiskey and Wild Wild Women

Ok-This is a dumb song that a friend and I sang at a party at high school. My parents were humiliated and after thinking about it, so was I. We didn't win either. The teachers couldn't believe that shy me could even consider singing such a song. I loved the song even tho I never developed smoking or alcohol. Plus what is Country Western songs all about. "Drinkin, and divorce, etc."

The reason I'm bringing up this subject, leaving out wild women, is the fact that I'm extremely angry with what WE THE PEOPLE are not yelling and screaming and writing our reps and senators with outragious feelings about what our own government has done by raising in prices of cigarettes. I was told today that one pack was almost up to $7, not counting a whole carton, which breaks those who are addicted. Yes, I know the government is trying to get a clean environment, but why pick on smokers. They can step outside to smoke.

Why don't they raise the price of liquor etc. That's what the real killer. Alcohol kills innocent families, not counting their selves by sclerosis of the liver. Id rather pass a car with a smoker driving than a drunk, wouldn't you. Its so hard to quick smoking etc. How is a family that started smoking when it was the cool thing to do to just quit? Alcoholics have AA and I guess there is a need for Smokers Anonymous.

Actually I think its a government thing to crapt on the American people any way to break them and make life miserable for all of us, including gas and groceries and next our prescriptions esp for the elderly. They keep finding ways to make us the broke generation. Theres two kinds of people, the super poor and the super rich. And it's on the way fast. Why didn't they do this many years ago. The government should have banned cigarettes back in the 40's. What do you all think. I don't like cig. smoke, but its better than a boozer behind a wheel. Whats your opinion of our government and their stupid decisions and believe me they are stupid.

Is Dr. Quiano really dead?

Ulysses is at it again, but this time its a doozy. Usually, where theres a rumor, theres a bit of truth. I had a strange visit with a good friend a week ago. I've sit on our conversation for days. Could this be true or one more horrible piece of gossip? Its driving me up the wall wondering who or why this story is circulating in Ulysses. Should I put it on our topics? Why not. All that can happen is I get blasted for posting news that prob. half of Ulysses has heard by now. This isn't the strangest fabrication thats happened in Ulysses. My honest friend shared that it's also being investigated by the authorities. The information is that Dr. Quiano's body or ashes or whatever has not been returned to the United States after all this time. It's been said that without the body being brought back, that his estate can't be settled. So what is going on. Word has it that maybe he doesn't want to return to Ulysses, that he wants to disappear, but why? Does he have a huge insurance policy? Does his wife have a huge insurance policy on him also. After the dust settles, will they share the policies, or will he share his by himself. Is he running from something? Does he want to disappear in the Philippines? I don't know how to address this news. I know hes a kind, well thought of, doctor. Yes, he's had problems in his past with women, but who hasn't had a problem of some kind in their lives. Unless we are all perfect, I feel that we all need to pray for him and his safety, if need be. What is your opinion? Have you heard this strange story? I feel I shouldn't share this, but I also feel I should share what kind of crud that someone in Ulysses is spreading about a decent doctor thats served this small town. Joy

Walmart project is DEAD

Walmart is dead. According to sources Walmart cancelled 15 new projects due the economy and ours was one of them. I have no clue if they pick it up again at a laer date or not but for now it is not coming. The ethanol plant is also a no go. MSK

$500 Fine and No Drivers License for One Year

I received an email from an unknown person last night and this is what they said. Jennifer Longfellow was sentenced yesterday in court. $500 fine and lose of driver license for one year. Can anyone verify this. It is not clear if the appeal was successful or this was for the original charges. If this is correct, it is very sad. MSK

I am now hearing that Judge Clint Peterson did not allow the victims families to testify and Hathaway is appealing to the Attorney General.

Hi All, I just received an anonymous email from a concerned citizen stating that there is a potential predator at Hickok school. Jesses Alonso is a janitor there and apparently he sent flowers, balloons and cards to 5 young girls at Hickok for Valentines Day. There was more but the citizen said they would get back to me. Anyone know about this? MSK

Separation of Church and State

Hi Everyone, Last week I read in the City Council Minutes that there was a Minister present and a prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ was said just prior to the council meeting. Then during the meeting Pete Woods questioned whether having a prayer during a government meeting was the smart thing to do. This bring up up the debate about church and state. I understand that Woods was just trying to protect the city from a law suit that might be filed by some nut job or the ACLU. I say who cares! Bring em on. The ACLU stopped protecting the civil liberties of citizens a long time ago. This country was founded by men of Religion, it is on our currency, the Declaration of Indepence and so on. Pete, grow some nuts. I was glad to see the City Admin defend the prayer, sort of. What do you think? MSK

Has anyone heard that two, maybe three officers are suffering with cancer? I do know that they are going to a Bible study to give them strength throughout this ordeal. With the wreck that cost our community those beautiful young women, the baby that was left in the car, or the child that was decapitated and more, can we ask what is going on in Ulysses? Stop the Fairness Doctrine

In the 1980's President Reagan got rid of this violation of Free Speech and now the Dems seek to bring it back. In a recent interview Michigan Senator Debbie Stabenow said she wants to hold hearings in a effort in act the Fairness Doctrine again. She says that there needs to be accountability in talk radio. This is a liberal effort to silence Conservative Talk Radio because they can't put for a host that can compete with Limbaugh, Hannity and Beck.

If we don't stand up for Free Speech, the Dems will trample all over it. This Doctrine will require that Radio and Cable programs will have to give equal time for a member of the opposing party to present their side of the story. The Libs already have 90% of all the Newspapers and Cable and Network news programs and now they want to silence the Conservatives who challenge their beliefs.

I saw that Obama wanted to extend the deadline for converting the analog signals to digital. Congress went ahead and approved it and now all he has to do is sign it. Does this make since to you? The public has known about this for 2 years, if they aren't ready it's their own damn fault. I think the president has more to worry about in this country then extending this out for another 4 months.

two rumors I heard this weekend.........does anyone know if they are true

#1 is Larry's Oil - I was told there was a story on KSN about Larry's Oil being investigated for something about Gas prices or overcharging on gas or something..... ? Does anyone know if there is something going on with them or is it just another rumor.

#2 Main Stop
I was also told that the IRS is looking for Dennis from the Main Stop that he is in trouble with the them and that is why the Main Stop is not open. I find it hard to believe that his is on the run as the Main Stop would be locked up by the IRS if that was the case, I think anyhow

Pork Laden, So Called Stimulus Bill

Is anyone else outraged at this bill. $835 billion. Full of liberal spending projects like $400 billion for global warming and now it turns out that Obama and the Dems are going to get the Illegals their tax refund. That's right, Illegal Aliens in the United States will get a "Tax Credit" along with all the legal people that don't make enough to even pay taxes. Welfare. Let's put millions of Illegals on welfare and then we'll make them citizens and then we will have an unstoppable Democratic base.

If we allow this bill to pass it will cost our children dearly. I hear as much as a 60% - 70 % tax rate just to pay for this. Our children will have that much taken from every paycheck so that Al Gore can push his Global Warming Agenda. Call Washington and talk to your Congressmen and Senators. Dems, you too. We can not afford this . Bad Businesses need to be allowed to fail.

Mutual Aid

When is Mutual Aid called in for an emergency and what determines who is called? I was told that when the four girls were killed Ulysses called Lakin for additional help? Why did we not use Critical Care Transport? I was told that if you call 911 and request an ambulace, you can specify if you want GC EMS or CCT. If you do specify of course GC EMS is called. But if GC EMS has all their ambulances and there is a need for another why would it not automatically be CCT? Who knows these answers or is willing to find out?

The buzz around town, is that Jennifer Longfellow was found guilty in court today. She has been charged with Failure to yield the right of wayand vehicular manslaughter x4. Sentencing will be in 30 days.

It is my understanding that the trial in front of Judge Alford is set for this Thursday January 22nd 2009 at 2:00pm. I could be wrong on the time. I was also told this was an open hearing, so anyone could attend. MSK

"Please Read City Council Minutes"

I've been out of the loop for a couple weeks so I went back into 2008 to check if I'd missed anything, and seen some questions about the city council. One question was "who would be elected to the Economic Development Board" from the newspaper. I read until I found out that Jerry Brown was unanimously elected to the position. If I'm correct he is responsible for the gas prices in Ulysses being higher than anywhere else since he supplies most of Ulysses. Plus there was a question from Brainy about my information about the man that owned a trailer that needed to be moved so they could have an off road to the new WalMart. Brainy, a man called Rob Kreutzer presented a request for help with expenses in "moving one of his trailers" to allow for the turning lane into the new WalMart in the amount of $14,448. If this wasn't enough he asked for another $14,448 to offset the loss of rent he would lose from the abandoned lot. If I'm right, this is that gross slum lord trailer court on the east side of Ulysses. Then comes Lynda Fort, owner of her elite little bed and breakfast place, asking for the sum of $17,950 for just her part of the centennial starting on Jan. 31st, not counting what the rest of the committees are asking for their part. (Should I ask, if anyone would even attend the centennial?) I should address our expenses of Willie Nelson singing and our painting the gazebo for the celebration, RIGHT? All of the above was voted in. Then Scott Malone asks "if the lake is filling up? Then he asked about the ground to the E. of the lake. Nothing is growing there, not even weeds." DUH! So a member chimed in to have the soil tested. Duh, again. How does sewage grow anything but green smelly slime. At this same meeting in the minutes, it was stated that the federal funds are to be cut by $160 million dollars in 2010 which means 35 million less for local governments. Are we not facing one of the worst distressing recessions, and why aren't our elected officials finding ways to cut their spending if WE THE PEOPLE have to. Patriot is very correct when telling us how important it is to go to the meetings. Only one or a few visitors are attending. We have so many issues in Ulysses that need funding rather than stupidity ones that they come together and SAY "What can we spend the peoples money on this time that we don't need to spend"? They come up with the idiotist awful projects that eventually costs us to the core. Please, everyone go to this site and start reading the minutes, plus there is a place to email your responses to them. I can't believe I'm getting politically crazy along with THEM. God help me. Joy

A Parents Responsibility

I had previously read a news article about a family who was upset when a bakery would not spell their childs name on a birthday cake. That little boy's name is Adolf Hitler. They named his two younger siblings JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell. This family is once again in the news only this time the children have been taken from the home, but reason as to why is not being let out to the public. My question is as a parent, what responsibility do we have to our children in giving them names? The parents insist they are not racist and yet look at these names. In a time when celebs name their children things like Apple, where is our culture as Americans going with names? Just a strange thought I wanted to share.

are there Consequences to pay when there is Tragedy?

Just a thought and a discussion to see what others think?? This is in no way intended to slam anyone or hurt anyone, but to discuss a very important matter.

When there is a tragedy like the death of the little 4 year old, or the death of the baby in left in the back seat all day at the hospital, or the death of those 4 beautiful teens, or someone crosses a center line on accident and kills someone.................these are all accidents............or are they Negligence? Are they any different than any other thing that others are charged with. If you run a red light and don't hurt anyone you are issued a ticket. If you shoplift and get caught you go to court, if you rob a place and don't even kill anyone or get any thing, you may go to prison. Seems to me like our laws are double standarded in some cases. I have been thinking alot about the accidents with the 4 yr old, the baby, and the teens........should there be a price to pay for this or not................? Of course the family and friends all pay one price but is that enough. With no Consequences maybe thats why these things happen over and over. IF YOU SPANK YOUR CHILD IN PUBLIC, YOU RISK LOOSING YOUR CHILD AND YOUR OTHER CHILDREN, IF YOU DON'T TAKE CARE OF THEM AS THE SYSTEM FILLS YOU SHOULD, YOU PAY THE PRICE....... so what about all these accidents? If there was a price to pay on the norm..........just like if you know you get caught speeding you are more careful............. if people knew they were going to pay a price besides the high price of a life........would it be different. Money is very mysterous, having fines, time in jail or prison, not very appealing. Like I said, I am not expressing my personal opinion here as I don't know that I have yet formed an opinion, these are just thoughts that are crossing thru my head and I know others have said the same to me.
