digital tv

I saw that Obama wanted to extend the deadline for converting the analog signals to digital. Congress went ahead and approved it and now all he has to do is sign it. Does this make since to you? The public has known about this for 2 years, if they aren't ready it's their own damn fault. I think the president has more to worry about in this country then extending this out for another 4 months.

  2. I read they estimate 5 million people still have not switched. Switching now would make them get off their butts and get it done. MSK

  3. Red Man, They are switching to free up channels for emergency radios, when 9-11 happened they didn't have enough channels to transmit through so they deccided to make the t.v. stations quit transmitting in analog to free up more channels.

  7. Redman, that is called isolationism. I agree that it is unfair for china to use cheap labor and our guys can't compete. Plus we have agreements with other countries that we have to honor or violate the agreements and start a trade war, then everyone looses. We do need some stimulus. I agree, but putting in a frisbee course and providing computer for the Department of Ag and birth control for kids is not stimulus. It is a liberal spending package. We need infrastructure jobs and lots of them in conjunction with tax cuts. Eliminate the capitol gains tax and that will spur massive spending and job creation the private sector. Pelosi hijacked this thing and put every liberal wet dream she ever had in it and now Obama is stuck defending it. He lost another cabinet member today for failure to pay taxes. He can't take many more political hits. MSK
